In the late afternoon we drive down to Cascais and the coast, where the salt wind and the golden light close the day in the loveliest way. It is only your family or your group, a guide who knows every shortcut through the hills, and plenty of time to feel why Sintra stays with you long after you go home.

We collect you at your hotel or apartment in a private, air-conditioned SUV and head up into the hills ahead of the crowds.

We visit the palace in the heart of the village, with its Halls of the Coats of Arms and of the Swans, and chimneys you can spot from afar.
We drive on to the westernmost point of mainland Europe, with its lighthouse and cliffs dropping straight into the Atlantic.
We stroll the seaside town, see the Boca do Inferno cleft, and stay for sunset over the water.
We return along the coastal road, unhurried, and drop you back at your hotel.
