Lisbon told at the table, plate by plate, with someone who eats where the locals eat.
The best way to understand Lisbon is to sit down at the table with it. On this private gastronomy experience we leave the tourist menus behind and follow the rhythm of people who actually live here. We start in a market heavy with ripe fruit and fish that came in this morning, settle into a tasca where the petiscos arrive in no particular hurry, taste fresh seafood the way tradition asks for it, and finish in one of those neighbourhood restaurants Lisboetas tend to keep almost as a secret. Along the way there is house wine, stories told over the table, and time to simply talk. All at your own pace, no rushing, no big groups, just you, your company, and the Lisbon you can taste.
Times are approximate and we adapt to you.
We begin at a neighbourhood market, where your guide introduces you to the fruit, fish and charcuterie stalls and points out what is worth tasting that day.
We move on to a traditional tasca for the first petiscos: cheeses, cured meats, warm bread and conversation to open the appetite.
At a trusted marisqueira we taste whatever the coast gave that day, from clams à bulhão pato to prawns and, with luck, percebes.
We sit down in a neighbourhood restaurant Lisboetas keep for themselves, with a proper home-style main dish and the right wine beside it.
We finish with a still-warm pastel de nata and a short coffee, the proper Portuguese way, before we say goodbye.

For travellers who explore through food and would rather sit in a tasca full of locals than a guidebook restaurant. Ideal for couples, groups of friends and curious families who want to taste the real Lisbon, with time to enjoy it and no checklist to rush through. The route can always be adapted to dietary needs or to anyone who does not eat seafood, just let us know beforehand.
They are. Every tasting on the route, the petiscos, the seafood, the main dish, the house wine and the pastel de nata with coffee at the end are all in the price. You only pay separately if you order bottles or dishes beyond what is planned.
You will not. There are several stops and the last one is a proper meal, not a two forkful tasting. Come hungry and allow around four hours of eating and walking.
We can, but we need to know in advance so we pick the right places. Tell us your restrictions when you book on WhatsApp and we build the route around them.
No, and that is deliberate: the experience is on foot in central Lisbon, because that is how you get to know a neighbourhood. We agree on a meeting point that is easy to reach by metro or on foot from your hotel.
It is private, your group only, normally up to 6 guests, with a host dedicated to you.
No advance payment. You settle at the end however suits you: cash, card, MB WAY, Wise, Revolut, or PayPal, and you can cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before.
